Minister of Justice outlines at the justice commission goals and contents of two bills about the higher council for judiciary power and judges statute
Minister of Justice, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi presented last Tuesday morning, November 29, 2022 at the justice, legislation and human rights commission at the House of Representatives two projects bills numbers 13.22 and 14.22 about changing and completing bill number 100.3 regarding the higher council for judiciary power and bill number 106.13 about judges statute.
Minister Ouahbi has outlined in front of the commission members the main goals and contents of the two bills which are aimed at transcending practicality of the above mentioned bills and overcome their shortcomings in dealing with many situations and fields due to a legislative void, complexity of some procedures or stumbling to follow up judges’ assessment and performance.
These amendments aim at allowing the higher council for judiciary power to have means and tools to carry out its mission in the best possible manner, enhance its efficiency and activate its role in training, assessing and inducing the judiciary.
Those amendments aim also at reexamining the procedure to select communication judges attached to the Moroccan Kingdom’s embassies abroad, which Morocco has integrated the model system to develop judiciary cooperation, as well as reviewing judge ranking careers in the judiciary corps in terms amending the extension of their retirement age to face shortage of positions in the judiciary sector.
