Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi: Ministry of Justice is supervising over « The National Observatory for Criminality»
Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has disclosed that the Ministry of Justice Directory for penal affairs, amnesty and crime monitoring, is carrying the mission of supervising over “the National Observatory for Criminality” which includes six services.
Minister Ouahbi has made clear in his response to a written question submitted by UMT trade union at the House of Councilors that as it was decided by the penal law, the observatory is a national mechanism which relies on various data available at different law enforcement penal justice bodies and institutions in Morocco.
Minister Ouahbi added that the Justice Ministry is working on defining shortage in human resources and therefore filling the void by reinforcing the Ministry directory for penal affairs and providing it with qualitative legal and technical specialties in terms of criminality and human sciences to focus on criminality behavior and recidivism; in addition to specialized engineers in intelligence, statistics and information data to define needs and indicators about crime according to its category, size and geographical distribution.
