Minister Mehdi Bensaid: Improving journalists conditions and media people is among the government priority

Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid has stated that improving working conditions of journalists and media people working with national media institutions is among the government priority.

Minister Bensaid’s statement came out during the signing of a social agreement last Thursday, February 16, 2023 between SNPM/Moroccan national press syndicate and national association for media and publishers, at the Ministry headquarters.

Minister Bensaid has clarified that this bilateral agreement aims at reinforcing mechanism of the sector’s governance, to support investments in media enterprises, incite journalists and media people working at national media institutions to evaluate their efforts and improve their social and financial conditions.

Minister Bensaid said that his department will remain open to all media bodies and components to improve journalists’ income and all staff working in media enterprises.

By the provisions of this agreement, it was decided a net salary increase at MAD 2000 monthly for journalists and professionals with above four years f seniority inside the enterprise.
