PAM’s Politburo Warns Against « Irresponsible Political Attitudes » Aimed At Undermining The Party

PAM’s Politburo held a meeting, chaired by the Secretary General, Abdellatif Ouahbi, on Thursday in Rabat, to discuss the latest political developments at the national and international levels, as well as the party’s organizational and financial aspects ahead of the upcoming elections.

In their interaction with Ouahbi’s political report on the latest developments in Morocco, the Politburo members welcomed King Mohammed VI initiative aimed at facilitating the return of Moroccan expatriates to their homeland for summer, which brought delight to millions of Moroccan immigrants around the world following the high increase in ticket prices by certain transportation companies, at a time where the government failed to intervene properly by showing signs of reluctance in dealing with this year’s Marhaba operation.

Within this context, PAM’s Politburo called on the government to assume its full responsibility in implementing HM’s instructions, for several transportation companies and local agencies are yet to abide by the said instructions accordingly.

With regard to the upcoming elections, the Politburo members embraced HM’s directives to the Central Committee for Electoral Monitoring, with the purpose of ensuring integrity and transparency throughout the electoral process, as well as preventing the public media from covering ministerial activities provided that participation shall be limited to concerned officials only.

In connection to the upcoming elections, PAM Politburo warned against the irresponsible political attitude and the material temptations employed by certain parties to undermine PAM’s representation, stressing that such actions do noy only affect equality standards, but also jeopardize the entire democratic process.

As for this year’s school season, the Politburo shed light on the imbalances that marred the end-of-year exams, especially among baccalaureate and university students, as a result of discrimination and inequality throughout the school year, due to the rising learning disparities between private and public schools during the pandemic on one hand, and the malfunctions marking remote-learning on the other, while urging the Ministry in charge to overcome such imbalances and ensure fairness for all students.

In respect of the New Development Model presented by the competent committee, and in light of the conclusions on reforming the national charter, PAM’s Politburo members expressed their satisfaction with the progress made throughout both consultative meetings between Morocco’s parliamentary parties and the development model committee, calling on the government to carry out the charter’s implementation as soon as possible in order to set the ground for a political breakthrough in terms of human rights, thus inevitably enhancing participation during the electoral process.

At last, PAM Politburo members discussed the content of the report issued by the election committee with regard to the upcoming elections, noting that many positive results had been achieved so far within professional chambers, the House of Representatives, regional councils and local communes, due to the outstanding participatory approach carried out by the competent committee in collaboration with PAM’s leadership, via a strong organizational and communicative dynamic expressed by the party’s MPs, elected officials and militants, in terms of organization, structuring and candidacy, bringing the party to believe – more than ever – in its ability to win the elections.
