A total of 476 new cases of coronavirus infection and 1,079 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Morocco, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday, affirming that 1,904,169 people were vaccinated to date.
The new figure brings to 479,071 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported last March and to 460,628 that of recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 96.2%, the ministry said in its daily report on the situation of the Covid-19.
The total number of deaths rose to 8,504, with 13 new cases recorded in 24 hours, a case fatality rate of 1.8%.
The cases of death were recorded in the eastern region (4), Casablanca-Settat (3), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (2), Fez-Meknès (1), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (1), Souss-Massa (1) and Béni Mellal-Khénifra (1).
The new cases of infection have been identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (254), Rabat-Sale-Kénitra (65), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (49), Marrakech-Safi (31), the eastern region (30), Daraâ-Tafilalet (16), Souss-Massa (11), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (7), Lâayoune-Sakia El Hamra (6), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (5), Fez-Meknès (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).
The number of active cases stands at 9,939, while severe or critical cases are 448, including 44 placed under intubation.
