The Moroccan volleyball U21 team has qualified for FIVB World Championship, scheduled between the 22nd and 30th of September, in Italy and Bulgaria (jointly organized tournament).
In its communiqué, the Moroccan Volleyball Federation indicated that Morocco’s U21 team snatched the World Cup qualification ticket upon ranking third during the African Volleyball Championship, which was held in Egypt, last February.
Morocco’s bronze medal throughout the last African Championship has earned the latter a few spots on the world ranking list, for the Moroccan team has advanced to the 10th position worldwide, out of 224 teams the ranking consists of.
“Morocco’s qualification for FIVB world championship shall remain a distinguished achievement, given the constraints imposed by the epidemiological situation, as well as the lack of competitions”, the same communiqué added.
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan U21 team will take part in the World Championship for the fourth time in history, provided its 3 earlier participations, namely in Turkey (2013), the Czech Republic (2015), and Bahrain (2019).
