News – BLS reveals “new measures and procedures” for obtaining entry visa to Spain

Spain Schengen Visa Application Center (BLS) indicated that its offices within Morocco’s capital, Rabat, are open to the public since March 1st.

However, only “those holding a valid one-year visa which expiration date goes as far as 31.12.2018”, will be able to apply for a visa, underlines the BLS on its official website, noting that “entry into Spain is only allowed in very specific cases, due to current mobility restrictions”.

Moreover, “the visas issued within this context shall only be used upon reopening the borders”, declares the BLS, specifying that visa applications can be submitted 6 months prior to travel dates.

It is noteworthy that the Moroccan authorities have recently extended the state of health emergency throughout the country until April 10, 2021, as part of its continuous efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic (Covid -19), via a series of restrictions in terms of travel from and into Morocco.

Due to the serious repercussions resulting in Covid-19 pandemic, Spain has declared a new state of health alert until May 9, 2021 throughout its national territories, except for the Canaries, stressing that travelers from among 65 listed countries are required to provide a negative PCR test (conducted within the last 72 hours), once they reach their destination.
