Covid-19 – Morocco Takes a Series of Measures from Oct. 1 (Statement)

Based on the recommendations of the Scientific and Technical Commission and taking into account the gradual improvement of the trend of coronavirus (Covid-19) contaminations, thanks to the measures taken by the public authorities and in view of the great improvement of the immunization campaign, the government has decided to take a series of measures that will come into force from October 1, 2021.

According to a statement, these measures concern the prohibition of night movement at the national level from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., and the authorization of movement between prefectures and provinces, provided that the person presents a vaccination pass or an administrative authorization issued by the competent territorial authorities.

Shops, restaurants and cafes are also required to close at 11:00 p.m. provided that they do not exceed 50 pc of their capacity.

The measures limit the capacity of public transport to 75%, in addition to allowing the organization of gatherings and activities in open and closed spaces of less than 50 people, with the obligation to obtain authorization from the local authorities if this number is exceeded.

Hammams and gyms are also allowed to resume their activities within the limit of 50% of their capacity, in addition to maintaining all other restrictive measures previously decided under the state of health emergency.

For the success of the implementation of the various measures, the government calls on all citizens to continue their full commitment and strict compliance with all the restrictions announced, including physical distancing, general hygiene rules and the mandatory wearing of the protective mask, concluded the statement.
