Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi received the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs and Peace

Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi received last Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at his office, the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs and Peace, BancolAdiwi and Mohamed El Arrouchi, the Kingdom’s representative to the African Union and Africa economic commission to the U.N.

Both sides have discussed a number of topics which interest the Moroccan judiciary model and the Moroccan experience in the reform of the judiciary apparatus, human rights and social justice. Both officials have also talked about the outcome of cooperation between Morocco and the African Union in the sector of justice, legal affairs and scopes of developing this bilateral cooperation.

In this context, Minister of Justice Ouahbi has emphasized on Morocco’s firm vision for a common African action in the fields of peace, security, and respect for human rights, expressing his department’s full readiness to reinforce and pursue cooperation means with African Union countries, through transferring and sharing successful experiences especially in having access to justice and rights.

From his side, the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs and Peace has praised Morocco’s outstanding role and position to push forward common African action in sectors that support peace, security and stability; and has also praised the quality and efficiency of the Moroccan judiciary system, expressing his desire to transfer the Moroccan experience of the judiciary reform to the rest of African Union countries.
