Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid explains the initial steps of bringing Theatre culture back to Moroccan households

Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication has confirmed that his department will work on bringing theatre culture back to Moroccan households, and that the first initiative made was the signing of a partnership contract with SNRT, to organize an annual theatrical event under the slogan “Theatre is moving”, which is aimed at shooting 60 theatrical works.

Minister Bensaid stated in his response to MP’s during the oral questions session held last Monday, December 27, 2021 “it is actually a message addressed to theatre people that we have not forgotten them, we stand with them and of course we will be responsive with their living problems”, adding that “the initiative has come in response to the problems being lived by theatre people and to bring this culture back to Moroccan households”.

Minister Bensaid has also announced that in the context of activating cultural industry, several partnerships have been signed with the private sector to achieve the goal of having 150 theatres at the national level, which will be supported with all means”.
