Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi: Exposing citizens’ personal lives at social media requires a bold decision to guarantee personal freedoms regarding electronic crimes
Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi stated that “our country has made many accumulated gains in the human rights field, the society has progressed and the issue to deal with human rights has become absolutely an irresistible matter and therefore no way to step back”.
The Minister added in his intervention during the weekly oral session held last Monday January 3, 2022 that “there is a constitutional debate, and there are other debates about specific issues; however, Morocco is processing in this direction, human rights should not include only rights but duties as well, and so both should be respected, respect of personal freedom and the citizen’s personal life”.
Minister Ouahbi has considered that exposing citizens personal life at social media and modern techniques is imposing itself; the fact which raises the question according to the Minister, should that be banned or not?, pointing out that the issue imposes a bold decision making to guarantee individuals’ personal freedoms concerning electronic crimes.
The Moroccan Minister has confirmed that Morocco has followed the steps in achieving important gains in the human rights field and so that should be evaluated.
