Secretary General Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi calls on the Rabat – area : PAM women members to elaborate a political discourse that defends Moroccan women’s issues
Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, Secretary General of the PAM has called on all women members of the party to think collectively about defending Moroccan women issues in general and PAM women members in particular and their participation in the political life.
Mr. Ouahbi stressed in a statement, during a women communication meeting
of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra area held last Sunday, March 12, 2022, under the slogan “for a strong and influential PAM women organization” the necessity to elaborate a political discourse that defends women’s issues, so that a strong economic and social power will be established capable of advocating and managing women’s issues.
Mr. Ouahbi stated that “The party gives paramount priority to build a strong women organization politically, legally and independent susceptible to play a big role in presenting widely the party inside the society and thus achieve its closeness to citizens both women and men, and help renew an elite that could bring in more energies and competencies, adding that a PAM women organization is considered as a fundamental partner to the party in the process of training citizens politically.
The PAM Secretary General said in addition that these preparatory initial meetings represent a basic layer for the establishment of a strong democratic women organization, able to meet challenges bestowed on all of us, as a national political party which is enjoying today an important status among our country’s political institutions landscape and on which many Moroccan are betting a lot to achieve their large expectations and hopes.
Mr. Ouahbi has also talked about the great importance given by His Majesty King Mohammed VI since his crowning in 1999, to Moroccan women through implementing their status and safeguarding their legitimate rights beside men; the fact which makes them enjoy their full cultural, economic, social and political rights, reinforce their capabilities to fight against vulnerability and poverty and therefore to contribute to the country’s progress.
Mr. Ouahbi has emphasized the role of rural women in social and economic development and the importance of working hard to relieve all kinds of unfairness vis-à-vis women in general and rural women in particular and stand up against women marginalization at various sectors, calling for paying special attention to this category to enjoy real equity especially in the economic, social political, educational and cultural fields and their rights for job opportunity, professional integration and their contribution to decision making.
