Training session for staff in charge of police custody facilities pertaining to General Directory for National Security
The HRNC and General Directory for National Security organize a training session aimed at enhancing and improving the skills of the GDNS staff responsible for police custody, over the period between September 26 and 30, 2022, at Idriss Benzekri Rabat center for human rights.
This training session has come in implementation of the institutional cooperation and partnership agreement in the field of training and respect for human rights among security staff; the agreement was signed on September 14, 2022, between Mrs. Amina Bouayach, President of the HRNC and Mr. Abdellatif Hamouchi, Director General for National Security and Control of National Territory.
The program for that training session, which will be supervised by experts and executives from the HRNC and the Directory General for National Security, will focus basically on “human rights, principles and practices”; “rights of persons in custody”; “authorities for monitoring and remedy”.
It’s worth pointing out that the agreement framework has come in the context of a training program aimed at improving common action between the HRNC and national security services to advance the culture of human rights within training curriculum of the police and national security staff responsible for executing rules; and also to support efforts made by the General Directory for National Security to reinforce professional practices and field interventions on the basis of national and international standards in the field of human rights.
The agreement also reflects common determination of the HRNC and National Security services to strengthen cooperation in different training sectors at its basic and on-going levels and specialties, and also to establish legal gains being achieved by Morocco in the field of protecting human rights.
