Minister of Justice presents in an international conference in Marrakech reforms and gains achieved by Morocco in human rights field
Minister of Justice, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi presided over an international conference held last December 7 & 8, 2022 in Marrakech under the tropic “national mechanism to implement, reports drafting and follow up in human rights field”
In his statement made on the occasion, Minister of Justice has praised the initiative of hosting this first important event of its kind, which has brought together high-level officials and international experts interested in human rights, as well as representatives from national mechanisms to implement, report and follow up, which have become major players at both national and international levels.
Minister of Justice has made clear that those mechanisms have become reliable in following up the implementation of commitments in the relationships with world and regional organizations concerned with human rights.
The government official has confirmed that the Moroccan Kingdom, under His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s wise leadership, is committed to human rights at the level of policies, institutions and practices, and is deeply eager to preserve gains, experiences, reforms and strategic structured initiatives.
Minister of Justice has referred to transitional judiciary and Berber language rights, and also to legislative reforms that concern women and child issues and immigration, pointing out that start –up of major economic and social projects target sustainable human development, the new development model, social protection, and clean and renewable energies, which have been endorsed by constitutional reform in response to aspirations of political parties and in reflection to various national political and legal development dynamism.
