The House of Councilors adopted unanimously two project bills on the Higher Council for Judiciary Power and judges’ basic status

The House of Councilors adopted unanimously last Tuesday, January 31, 2023, two regulatory project bills number 100.13 about the Higher Council for Judiciary Power and bill number 106.13 about judges basic status.

The two projects bills aim at achieving more independence for the judiciary power, required judiciary efficiency and relevant justice performance. They will also allow the Higher Council of Judiciary Power to have necessary means and tools to carry out its mission in the best possible manner.

During his presentation of the two projects bills, Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has confirmed that in the context of implementing the 2011 Constitution provisions, which has risen the judiciary to become an independent judiciary power separated from legislative and executive powers, were structured by the provisions of the above-mentioned both project bills numbers 100.13 and 106.13.

The government official has praised the positive reaction shown by President and members of the Justice, Legislation and Human Rights Commission at the House of Councilors, both from the majority and the opposition.
