On the margin of the 52nd session of human rights council meeting started last Monday, February 27, 2023 in Geneva, Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi held talks with the Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Abdullah Shahid
Both sides have discussed, over the meeting, means to reinforce strong relationships established between both countries in many fields and have stressed the necessity to advance those relationships at all levels for the sake of common goals.
On this occasion, Minister of Justice has presented to the Maldives Foreign Affairs Minister the reforms undertaken by Morocco in different fields under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, especially in the justice, confirming the Ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the state of the Maldives in the justice, regulations, exchange of expertise and training.
Minister Ouahbi has highlighted that Morocco is about to hold a number of international conferences on human rights, particularly what concerns women and child’s rights and will rely on international experiences for that. The Minister has seized this occasion to extend an invitation to the Maldives state to contribute to that debate and share its experiences and expertise.
From his own side, The Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs has expressed his appreciation towards Morocco’s reforms, confirming the old and historical relationships between the Moroccan Kingdom and The Maldives, and expressing his readiness to deepen more cooperation relationships with Moroccan officials in many fields.
