PAM Politburo hails Royal message to Government Chief regarding the family code status reform and confirms PAM availability to engage positively and strongly in this major workshop
PAM Politburo has hailed the royal message addressed to the Government Chief, regarding the call by the Commander of the Faithful, to the Justice Ministry, the Higher Council of the Judiciary Authority and Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to lead joint procedures to reform the family code status, calling on the same time for effective implication of the Higher Religious Council, the National Council for Human Rights and the government body in charge of solidarity, in addition to social and family inclusion in this important social workshop.
In a communiqué issued in the aftermath of an ordinary session held under the presidency of PAM Secretary General Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, on Tuesday, October 3 at the party headquarters in Rabat, PAM Politburo has highly appreciated His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s instructions concerning this important community workshop and his wisdom in calling for this reform and his concern to tackle this issue under its different scopes and therefore bring in both institutional and intellectual guaranties to come up with efficient proposals capable of adding new gains to family status as well as to Moroccan women to value their position inside the Moroccan society.
PAM leadership has considered this distinguished national moment as a historical phase to pave the way for the elaboration and renewal of the family code future. The Moroccan Kingdom is engaged under His Majesty’s leadership in the human rights field, the promotion of women’s rights and the preservation of the Moroccan family identity, at a phase where universal values and references have been shaken.
The Politburo has confirmed that PAM, along with all components and organizations and all its militants is ready to engage positively and strongly in these important national workshops and will remain at the committee availability in order to bring in its serious contributions and various proposals in this issue.
Regarding the new political entry, the communiqué indicates that the Politburo has discussed political, economic and social challenges and stakes related to current political and social entry, recalling legislative and social challenges and stakes presented to the government and the Parliament, especially the 2024 budget bill, considered as an important political moment and an opportunity for the Parliament to exercise its controlling role and to assess our country’s economic, social and political situation.
The Politburo has underlined the necessity to consolidate the current government social scope in this structured project and monitor all possibilities to support the progress of workshops related to social protection and other social sectors; including the government efforts to double subventions allocated to Moroccan farmers on the occasion of the beginning the current agricultural campaign to overcome the critical and hard situation as a result of a persistent drought.
