Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi: The earthquake disaster which has shaken several areas of the Kingdom is a big tragedy but carries many lessons and signals
Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi stated last Sunday, October 29, 2023 that last September 8, earthquake was a big tragedy for Moroccans but was full of lessons and signals.
Minister’s statement has come in response to questions in Medi-1 TV channel program “Guest of the Week” in which Mr. Ouahbi has praised the rate of solidarity and cohesion shown by the Moroccan people in its reaction to the earthquake disaster under His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s wise leadership.
Minister Ouahbi has highlighted that the Moroccan state has carried out its task since the very beginning of the earthquake and has reached out, under supreme royal instructions, to implement first aids operations and provide food, shelter and all kinds of needs with the contribution of authorities and Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
In the same context, added Mr. Ouahbi, the government has fully played its role in dealing with earthquake repercussions and has taken many field measures for the behalf of earthquake-stricken populations.
Minister Ouahbi has reaffirmed that “We have presented to the entire world many lessons about Moroccans’ unity, solidarity and courage and have shown the strength of the Moroccan state’s handling of various positions.”
Minister of Justice has pointed out that the government has completed a program to handle the earthquake impacts and will move to implement rehabilitation and reconstruction of damaged areas and re-accommodate populations and provide them with different needs.
