Video – The Moroccan Kingdom elected President of the UN Human Rights Council Minister Ouahbi: “We will be objective and perceptive to safeguard human rights culture and protect family values and concepts related to human rights”
Following the historical election of the Moroccan Kingdom as the new President of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) or 2024, Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi was yesterday, Wednesday January 10, 2024, the guest of Al Aoula TV channel commenting on this historical achievement.
Minister Ouahbi has stated that “this outstanding historical election is not only a victory in itself but also recognition of the Moroccan Kingdom’s big role and position in promoting human rights.. Morocco has won 30 voices while South Africa has got 17 voices, knowing that the number of the UNHRC members is 47.”
Minister Ouahbi, on the occasion, has praised all of Moroccan Ambassador Mr. Zniber, the Ministerial Commissioner in charge of human rights and Minister of Foreign Affairs for the tremendous efforts they have made for that great achievement.
Minister of Justice Mr. Ouahbi added that “Morocco has been full member of the UNHRC for three mandates and has presented 4 reports and 12 mechanisms for special measures about human rights; meaning that Morocco has been very active as a member, influential, omnipresent and very participative at the level of decision-making of the council.”
