To commemorate the blessed Night of Power, King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, presides over a religious ceremony at the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist him, presided over the ceremony, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Ismail, presided over a religious ceremony this evening, Monday, April 17, 2023, corresponding to the 26th of Ramadan 1444 AH, at the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, to commemorate the blessed Night of Power.

After the Isha and Tarawih prayers, the young reciter Hajar Al-Mrabet (11 years old, from the city of Tetouan), winner of first place in the Mohammed VI National Award for Memorization, Recitation, and Chanting of the Holy Quran, recited verses from the Wise Remembrance. She then approached His Majesty the King to greet him and received the award from his hands.

This award reflects the special attention that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, has consistently shown to those who memorize the Holy Quran, as well as His Majesty’s unwavering commitment to encouraging the younger generation to memorize and recite the Holy Quran with excellence.

Following that, Mr. Bahauddin Muhammad Jamaluddin al-Nadwi of the Republic of India delivered a speech before His Majesty the King on behalf of the scholars participating in the Hasaniya Ramadan Lectures for the year 1444 AH, in which he expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Commander of the Faithful for the warm welcome, generous hospitality, and utmost care extended to them throughout their stay in the Kingdom.

In this regard, Mr. Al-Nadwi said that every Ramadan, the Al-Hassaniya Lectures bring together a select group of scholars to discuss issues facing the Islamic world and humanity as a whole, emphasizing that this noble tradition continues to bear fruit time and again.

On this occasion, he praised His Majesty the King for continuing the legacy of his illustrious predecessors, noting that contemporary history has recorded memories of pride and glory for His Majesty the late King Mohammed V for establishing bonds of affection and harmony, just as it has recorded for His Majesty the late King Hassan II, may God have mercy on him, the laying of the foundations of progress and prosperity for the building of modern Morocco.

This great religious occasion was also marked by the recitation of the final chapter of Sahih al-Bukhari by Mr. Belkacem al-Qasimi, a member of the Local Scientific Council of the Ibn Msiq District, following the recitation of the “Hadith of the Final Chapter” by Mr. Hassan Sabir, a member of the Local Scientific Council of the Ain al-Shak District.

The Commander of the Faithful then presented the Mohammed VI Award for “People of the Quran” and the Mohammed VI Award for “People of Hadith” to their respective winners, Mr. Abdelrahim Al-Nabulsi of Marrakesh and Mr. Mohamed Benkirane of Al-Qasr Al-Kabir.

His Majesty the King, may God preserve him, also presented the Mohammed VI Award for Quranic Schools in its three categories to Mr. Mohamed Chakir of Ouarzazate (Award for Teaching Methodology), Mr. Mohamed Boules of the Quranic School in Larache (the Performance Award), and Mr. Mohamed Al-Za'nuni from the city of Tiznit (the Management Award).

Following this, His Majesty presented the Mohammed VI Award for the Call to Prayer and the Takbir, established by His Majesty’s royal decree, in its two categories, to Mr. Youssef Al-Naji of Mohammedia (the Appreciation Award) and Mr. Mohammed Al-Haddar of Nador (the Honorary Award).

At the conclusion of this solemn religious ceremony, prayers were offered to Almighty God to protect the Commander of the Faithful, the Defender of the Faith and the Religion, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and to grant him a resounding victory, thereby bringing glory to Islam and Muslims; that He may crown his endeavors with success and fulfill his aspirations and hopes; that He may bless His Majesty’s wise decisions; that He may grant him the joy of his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Hassan; and that He may strengthen His Majesty with his brother, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and the rest of the noble Royal Family.

Those present also offered prayers to the Almighty, may His power be exalted, asking Him to shower His mercy and blessings upon the late leaders of the Arab world and Islam, Their Majesties the late Mohammed V and Hassan II, and to honor their resting places and bless their graves.

This religious ceremony was attended, in particular, by the Head of Government, the Speakers of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, His Majesty’s advisors, members of the government, representatives of the diplomatic corps of Islamic countries accredited to Morocco, senior officers of the High Command of the Royal Armed Forces, scholars who participated in the Hassan II Ramadan lectures, heads of local scientific councils, elected officials, as well as other civilian and military figures.
