The Secretary-General of the Authenticity Party, Mr. Abdellatif Wahbi, praised the political milestone that took place in the city of Bouznika last month: the founding of the Authenticity and Modernity Women’s Organization and the election of its president, Ms. Qaloub Faitah.
In his keynote address to the attendees of the regional conference, held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Marrakech under the theme “Dynamism and Commitment in the Spirit of the Founding,” the Secretary-General emphasized that the PAM Women’s Organization conference had significant regional implications.

In his address to women, the Secretary-General said: “We in this party will defend women, their rights, and all freedoms; we will prevent their marginalization and we will change the laws, because women are our mothers, sisters, wives, aunts, and cousins… and because women are the ones who ululate, and the first thing we hear when we are born is that ululation, which is an expression of joy when we succeed in our studies and when we find employment…”
The Secretary-General continued in his speech, “It is a matter of morality and duty to recognize this woman, and the least we can do for her is to ensure fairness and equality. Therefore, there are those who wish to distort our words—do not listen to them.”
The Secretary-General praised the efforts made by Ms. Fatima Al-Zahra Al-Mansouri within the Authenticity and Modernity Party and at the Ministry of National Planning, Urban Development, Housing, and Urban Policy, as well as the achievements she has made as mayor of Marrakesh, and called on the delegates of the Marrakech-Safi region to produce leaders as capable as Fatima Al-Zahra Al-Mansouri.

Regarding the debate on the Family Code, Mr. Wahbi, in his capacity as Minister of Justice, explained that to those calling for an expedited discussion of the Code and changes to the law, he would say that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, is responsible for religious affairs, and that once he issues a decision, it is up to the Ministry, institutions, and civil society organizations to contribute their expertise to this important social and religious issue.
Wahbi went on to explain, saying: “There is no delay because everyone is working, and I have received many proposals, but political work falls under the authority of the Head of State, His Majesty the King, and requires his decisions. Thank God that His Majesty the King is the one who oversees religious affairs, and when His Majesty gives his permission, we will provide this service under his supervision. Therefore, I tell you that there is quiet work waiting to be brought to fruition.”
