Qaloub Faitah, a member of the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s parliamentary group, warned of the growing spread of measles (bohmaroun) in several regions of the Kingdom, particularly in certain provinces of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, stressing that this situation calls for urgent intervention by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
This was stated in an oral question posed by Ms. Faitah to the Minister of Health and Social Protection.
She called for the widespread rollout of vaccination and for ensuring an adequate supply of vaccines, as this is the most effective way to prevent the disease and limit its spread among the population, whether through transmission or new infections.
Faitah stressed the importance of taking urgent measures to address this health crisis, noting the need to accelerate vaccination campaigns in affected areas while raising awareness about the importance of prevention to avoid a worsening of the pandemic.
Faitah called on the ministry to disclose the plans and measures it intends to take to ensure the protection of citizens from the consequences of this disease, which threatens the safety of large segments of the population, especially in remote areas.
