The 28th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), scheduled to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 30 to December 12, is expected to see strong and significant participation from the Kingdom of Morocco, as the country has decided to unveil its new Low Carbon Strategy 2050.
The Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development made this announcement during a scientific symposium recently organized in Casablanca by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Morocco.
Minister Benali stated that Morocco is seeking, through a long-term low-carbon roadmap, to develop a new green value chain and enhance the competitiveness of its economy, while ensuring a decarbonization transition and positioning itself as a proactive exporter.
"These measures will enable Morocco to keep pace with developments in this economic sector alongside various key partners, such as the Green Deal initiative, the European Union, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)," the minister said.
