Meeting with the Tetouan-based scholar… Ahmed Al-Touizi reviews the government’s achievements and affirms that the fact-finding committee requested by the majority bloc regarding support for sheep importers will clarify all the facts

On the evening of Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Mr. Ahmed Al-Touizi, head of the Authenticity and Modernity Group in the House of Representatives, visited the Al-Faqih Al-Tetouani Foundation in Salé as a guest for a dialogue session with a group of media professionals, titled “The Battle of Arguments: The Majority and the Opposition Face to Face.”

Speaking candidly and backed by evidence and data, the head of the PAM parliamentary group reviewed the programs and projects that the government had committed to implementing and whose results were already visible on the ground, highlighting the roles played by the governing majority: supporting the government and representing citizens.

Mr. K. Al-Touizi criticized the opposition’s claims that this government is engaging in “procrastination,” citing as evidence a series of major achievements and projects that the government had committed to in its platform, most of which have been implemented, with their impact and results already evident on the ground.

Al-Tuwaizi explained that the ruling majority views the opposition as a group with established constitutional rights, but when it comes to figures, percentages, and various indicators, the opposition focuses on the empty half of the glass.

Regarding the debate over subsidies for sheep imports ahead of Eid al-Adha, the head of the parliamentary group, Al-Bami, explained that providing subsidies to sheep importers is a voluntary effort by the government because it is a responsible government; when it observes a problem with rising meat prices, it implements a subsidy policy to curb the price increases, He noted that the figure disclosed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives is accurate regarding the support provided for sheep imports, which did not reach 50 billion centimes.

Al-Tawizi announced the decision by the government majority blocs to form a fact-finding committee on the issue of sheep imports, and that upon completion, it would submit a report containing all the details of this support for discussion in a plenary session of the House of Representatives, arguing that the opposition’s request to form a fact-finding committee was merely a political stunt because it lacked the quorum required to form such a committee.

On another note, Al-Touizi praised the government’s decisions to reform the health, higher education, and labor sectors, noting that the challenges facing Morocco’s agricultural sector are long-standing issues, and that Moroccans have made progress in addressing these challenges since the 1930s, with the majority playing their part in the Green Morocco Plan.
