للسنة الثالثة على التوالي…إعادة انتخاب السفير عمر هلال نائبا لرئيس المجلس التنفيذي لليونيسيف

انتخبت مجموعة السفراء الأفارقة لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك، بالإجماع للسنة الثالثة على التوالي، عمر هلال السفير الممثل الدائم للمغرب لدى الأمم المتحدة، في منصب نائب رئيس المجلس التنفيذي لليونيسيف.

وتشكل مسألة إعادة انتخاب السفير عمر هلال دليلا على الثقة التي يحضى بها من جانب سفراء المجموعة الإفريقية في نيويورك، نتيجة لديناميته داخل المنظمة والتزامه بقضية الطفولة، خاصة وأن منظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة تضطلع بدور بالغ الأهمية في إفريقيا، التي تشهد نموا قويا في عدد ساكنتها من الشباب والأطفال.

وللإشارة، سيقوم الأعضاء الخمسة الجدد لمكتب المجلس التنفيذي لليونيسف لعام 2021، وهم سفراء المغرب وليتوانيا وجمهورية كوريا وكوستاريكا ونيوزيلندا، من بين أمور أخرى، على تقييم استجابة اليونيسف لوباء كوفيد-19، واتخاذ قرارات حاسمة لإعادة ملاءمة برامج المنظمة لتجاوز تداعيات الوباء على إعمال حقوق الطفل، والتوافق حول أفضل الإجراءات التي من شأنها إعادة بناء مستقبل أفضل وأكثر مرونة لجميع أطفال العالم.
