هيئة دولية.. أربعة من كل خمسة مدمنين على المخدرات لا يجدون العلاج

كشفت الهيئة الدولية لمراقبة المخدرات، أمس الأربعاء 7 أبريل الجاري، أن 4 من كل 5 أشخاص في البلدان المنخفضة والمتوسطة الدخل لا يتلقون العلاج العقلي أو العصبي من تعاطي المخدرات.

وأوضح بيان للأمم المتحدة، بمناسبة اليوم العالي للصحة، الحاجة الماسة لبناء عالم أكثر عدلا وصحة، موضحا أن تقديرات الهيئة الدولية لمراقبة المخدرات تشير إلى أن 92 في المائة من علاج “المورفين” يتم استهلاكه في البلدان ذات الدخل المرتفع، بنسبة 17 في المائة فقط من سكان العالم.

وأشار ذات المصدر، أن جائحة كورونا تشكل تحديا إضافيا لتوافر المواد الخاضعة للرقابة للأغراض الطبية والعلمية، وكذا تقديم خدمات العلاج للأشخاص الذين يعانون من مشاكل الصحة العقلية واضطرابات تعاطي المخدرات، لافتا إلى أنه لم يتم بعد تقييم تأثير الوباء على الصحة العقلية بشكل كامل.

ولفت بيان الأمم المتحدة أن التقرير السنوي للهيئة الدولية لمراقبة المخدرات لسنة 2020 حث الحكومات على ضمان استمرار توفير خدمات العلاج للصحة العقلية واضطرابات تعاطي المخدرات كجزء من الخدمات الأساسية.
