On Monday, October 3, in Rabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Republic of Yemen, Mr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
Speaking during a joint press conference with Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, following their talks, the Yemeni minister said, “We reaffirm Yemen’s unwavering position, which we have repeatedly expressed, and which constitutes Yemen’s fundamental stance regarding the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Moroccan character of the Sahara.”
The Yemeni minister stressed that any solution to the fabricated conflict over the Sahara “can only be within the framework of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco and its territorial integrity,” noting that this is “a fundamental position for Yemen, and we stand with our brothers in Morocco on this issue,” in accordance with the concept of Arab solidarity and the provisions of Arab League and international charters.
For his part, Mr. Bourita expressed his gratitude to Yemen for its unwavering support for the cause of the Moroccan Sahara, which it has consistently voiced in various regional and international forums.
