Member of Parliament Abdellatif Wahbi submitted a written question to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad regarding the plight of Moroccan children and women in countries experiencing tensions.
In his written question, the member of parliament stated that “many national and international media outlets have published appeals and cries for help on behalf of Moroccan children and women stranded in conflict zones such as Syria, Iraq, and Libya, in which they demand protection and repatriation to their home country, Morocco, as their lives and physical safety are now under threat and they have become vulnerable to human organ trafficking gangs due to the chaos, killing, and rape prevalent in those regions.”
Wahbi added, “Regardless of the security measures and legal and criminal proceedings against anyone involved in legal violations, we ask you: What steps will you take from a humanitarian perspective to save these children and women and rescue them from the depths of this suffering?”
