Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi meets with President of the Higher Council for Judiciary Authority and President of the General Prosecutor’s Office (Third meeting of the joint authority)

Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, accompanied by President Delegate of the Higher Council for Judiciary Authority and President of the General Prosecutor’s Office, held last Monday, April 25, 2022, a meeting of the joint authority, at the higher council for judiciary authority headquarters. 

The meeting has come in application to the provisions of chapter 54 of the regulatory law related to the higher council for judiciary authority and in accordance with the provisions of the text amending the joint resolution between the President delegate and the Justice Minister about establishing coordination in judicial administration, which was signed on April 6, 2021 and published in the official bulletin number 6988 on May 20 2021.

The meeting aims at reinforcing coordination between active institutions in the judiciary apparatus, out of consideration that the joint authority is considered as the mechanism responsible for coordination in judiciary administration, to provide necessary conditions to ensure an idealistic management for this body, its efficiency and finally to better manage the justice department.

The meeting has raised a number of issues of big importance among them:

  • The condition of new courts buildings in Rabat
  • The condition of Casablanca courts
  • Activating centers for residents judges recently built
  • Moving the division of judges to the Higher Council for Judiciary Authority
  • Program to inaugurate new courts buildings
  • Attendance of the Justice Minister at the higher council’s meeting

Panelists have come to the conclusion of the importance of coordination and cooperation between official governments in charge of justice, the judiciary authority and Presidency of the General Prosecutor’s Office as the three active components of the justice sector. They have reached an agreement on taking all necessary measures to improve courts infrastructures, their modernization, digitization and enhancing human resources capacities.
