Ouahbi: Women from Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima area enjoy a historical place in country at different levels

Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, the PAM Secretary General said that women from Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima area bear an important historical position in our country at various social, economic and political sectors, highlighting that women from the North despite their great and heroic roles along with men of resistance and their development and economic sacrifices since independence, are still suffering from certain aspects of exclusion, vulnerability and deprivation.

Mr. Ouahbi added in a statement made during a communication meeting for Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima women held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Tangier, that “in general, women condition is still a bitter reality since there continues to be many aspects of marginalization among Moroccan women and lack of balance between their important economic and social roles on one side and their position inside the fabrics of economic development and social progress”, making clear that “the opportunity is at the hands of our party militants in Tangier area to play fully their roles inside the party and assume their responsibility towards Moroccan women issues and towards our nation to serve Moroccan citizens”.

In the same context, the PAM SG has confirmed, during the meeting which was organized by the PAM regional secretariat general under the slogan “A strong regional organization for women political empowerment and preparing future elite”, that the party is fully aware that improving Moroccan women condition, safeguarding their dignity and empowering them politically is the only means to the state progress and prosperity of the society, calling for coming up with new ideas and proposals which would contribute to women empowerment economically socially and politically”.

Mr. Ouahbi has clarified that organization dynamism launched by the party for the establishment of a strong and active women organization is a clear acknowledgment of the women essential role in the cultural, social and economic development and that a strong democratic and transparent women organization is open to all party militants from various areas of the kingdom.

In conclusion, Mr. Ouahbi said “this meeting will constitute an opportunity to exchange proposals and opinions to build a women organization which enjoys a long-term vision and a clear and ambitious program for the party inside the Moroccan political landscape”, adding “let’s all elaborate and with full courage a genuine women framework, that will represent a vector to reinforce women roles inside the political sphere and at different representative institutions that manage public matters”.
