Minister of Justice received his Belgium counterpart and agreed on reinforcing cooperation in the justice field
Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi received last Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at his department office in Rabat vice Prime Minister – Minister of Justice in the Kingdom of Belgium Mr. Paul Van Tigchelt, who is making a working visit to the Moroccan Kingdom.
Mr. Ouahbi has praised, over the meeting, with his Belgium counterpart the level of cooperation and the depth of relationships linking both countries in different fields, stressing the necessity to deepen more those outstanding cooperation relationships in the justice field.
On the same occasion, Minister Ouahbi has presented a brief overview on reforms undertaken by Morocco in the justice field, especially in terms of legislation and digitization. Minister Ouahbi has also presented to his Belgium counterpart a briefing about legal and professional major projects made by the Justice Ministry aimed at reinforcing conditions and circumstances for fair trials and safeguarding the rights of women and children and of other social categories, including public freedoms.
Minister Ouahbi has evoked, over this important meeting with the Belgium official and his accompanying delegation, the issue of Moroccan community living in Belgium, reiterating the kind attention paid by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Moroccan diaspora abroad.
From his own side, The Belgium Minister has presented a number of reforms currently made by Belgium, expressing at the same time his happiness to get informed about Moroccan experience and reforms undertaken by the Moroccan Kingdom in the justice field.
