Moroccan PAM MP Mrs. Najwa Koukous makes an important presentation at the 50th meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Organization executive committee council’s union

The 50th meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Organization executive committee council union was characterized by the presence of Moroccan MP from PAM Mrs. Najwa Koukous. The 50th meeting was held on February 15 & 16, 2024 in Constantine, Algeria, and was attended by members of the permanent commission in charge of economic and environment affairs. The meeting has come as a follow up to the resolutions and recommendations adopted by the 17th conference of the union which was held in Algeria last January 2023.

Mrs. Koukous has reminded in her intervention the tragic conditions occurring in Gaza against its population of mass killings, destruction, deportation and siege, which all have caused the death of thousands of innocent civilian victims in flagrant violation of international laws and human principles, and this despite many calls for truce and self-restraints.

Mrs. Koukous has reaffirmed that His Majesty King Mohammed VI has called in his speech addressed to participants in the common Arab Islamic extraordinary summit held last November in the brotherly KSA, for human conscience resistance to halt killing of human beings dignified by The Almighty Allah, and move collectively to achieve the four following urgent priorities:

  1. Halt all military aggressions leading to permanent ceasefire subject to control.
  2. Ensuring protection of innocent civilians and avoiding their killings in accordance with international and humanitarian laws.
  3. Allowing the flow of humanitarian assistance with large amounts for Gaza populations.
  4. Establish a political horizon for resolving the Palestinian issue, the only means for a two-state solution agreed upon by the international community.

Mrs. Koukous has also mentioned His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s instruction to provide supplement scholarships for the behalf of Palestinian students who pursue their studies at Moroccan universities amid the initiative launched by His Majesty to support the Palestinian people; in addition of sending humanitarian and food assistance via the Arab Republic of Egypt.
