Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid: The sector of culture is not partner or party to projects related to fossils field

Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid has confirmed that the sector of culture is not a partner or a party to projects related with the field of dinosaurs and fossils, that was in his response to a written question submitted by a MP representing RNI party, in which he questions about moral and material subvention the Ministry will present to dinosaurs museum in Immi Nulan, located 80 km from Ouarzazat.

Minister Bensaid has reminded that cultural services in the area of Deraa – Tafilalet have not received any invitation or consultation about the creation of a museum; also he has no data about its creation and its achievement phases, pointing out that parties which have signed the agreement are the ones committed to implement its clauses to serve public interest.

The Minister has clarified that dinosaurs and fossils enter within the competencies of geological legacy pertaining to Ministry of Energy and Mines, which is considered as the party responsible for those single treasures and which is interested in national geological legacy, due to many legal measures and arrangements aimed at safeguarding, developing and preserving that national legacy nationally and internationally, adding that national museums are the ones responsible for managing the national museum fund.
