Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid holds a meeting with the Moroccan confederation of professional arts and cultural organizations to discuss “culture industry”

Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid held last Wednesday, May 4, 2022, a meeting with the Moroccan confederation of professional arts and culture organizations.

The meeting has come in the context of dialogue and openness the Ministry has outlined with various components of the cultural sector.

During the meeting, debate has focused on a number of issues concerning culture industries in our country, mainly the bill 25.19 about the Moroccan Copy Rights Office/ONDA and associated rights. The meeting has unanimously decided to accelerate the implementation of this bill as a transitional phase for enacting another bill in the foreseeable future, taking into consideration a number of observations made by arts and cultural players.

On the margin of that meeting, participants have exchanged viewpoints over a number of issues that concern Moroccan cultural matters and means to raise the level of arts and culture production.
