PAM Communiqué “The door is open to candidates for the position of PAM Secretary General”
PAM Politburo held last Wednesday, January 31, 2024, its ordinary session under the presidency of the Secretary General of the party Mr. Abdllatif Ouahbi, at the PAM headquarters in Rabat to debate latest developments in the national and international political scene; and also the latest preparations for the holding of the fifth national convention of the party and some other internal organizational matters of the party. Following an extensive and deep discussion of various issues which were included in the statement of the Secretary General, PAM Politburo states the following:
- First: It highly appreciates the contents of the royal message to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the creation of the Moroccan Parliament to reinforce institutional democratic choice of our country and deepen the foundations of representative democracy; while praising highly His Majesty’s call to prevailing the nation’s supreme interests over narrow party’s own interests, the Politburo considers that those royal supreme instructions should be a phase to renew the process of integrating institutional reform accumulated by our country.
- Second: Concerning the unprecedented situation of water scarcity faced by our country during this year, and its increasing impact on social and economic conditions in some urban and rural areas, the Politburo, while appreciating highly royal special attention to this vital and strategic issue since His Majesty has personally presided over strategic working sessions, it also values all efforts made by the government to alleviate this crisis impact and calls on all its militants and citizens as well to seriously and strongly integrate in different measures to make good use of water as decided by concerned authorities to minimize the impacts of water stress crisis.
- Third: Regarding the party’s organizational matters, the Politburo has been informed about latest developments and preparations for the holding of the fifth national convention next week, praising the party militants’ efforts from all over the country to make successful this fifth national convention to reaffirm to those suspicious persons that the PAM will remain a party of institutions, respectful of the law and of discipline and respect of party’s decisions. The PAM and all its militants are engaged and determined to make of the fifth national convention another phase of party militancy that reflects and endorses the outstanding position of the PAM as a democratic, secular and strong party based on firm foundations.
- In the context of the upcoming fifth national convention, it was decided to open the door for candidacy of the secretariat general position starting from Friday, February, 2, 2024 till the date of the holding of the convention.
- Fourth: Concerning international matters and precisely the genocide in full view of the world, the Politburo highly expresses diplomatic efforts and royal special attention His Majesty is pursuing to support the Palestinian people to achieve all its legitimate rights and its right in peace and safe living. The Politburo also expresses its satisfaction towards recent resolutions issued by the International Court of Justice which has called for stopping the genocide against the Palestinian people and condemned the crimes perpetrated by IDF. In this same context, the Politburo has called on the international community and all active political forces over the world to put more pressure and immediate intervention to protect the Palestinian people from mass killings, deportation and unprecedented genocide in history, this is done in flagrant impotence of UN institutions and the international community to protect Palestinian children and women from barbaric oppression practiced by IDF in full flagrant violation of international and world charters, law and universal human values.
